Lamaze And Hickstead Charge To The Win In Charlotte Welcome Stake
It was a very exciting opening class for the 2008 Charlotte Jumper Classic, which was held at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Uptown Charlotte. Canada’s Eric Lamaze and Hickstead raced to the $50,000 Charlotte Welcome Stake, CSI victory over Pavarotti and Todd Minikus and Chris Kappler with VDL Oranta.

On The Road To The Olympics
The course designer for the 2008 Charlotte Jumper Classic, which includes the $500,000 Grand Prix of Charlotte, is Steve Stephens of Palmetto, FL. Stephens is also this year’s co-course designer for show jumping at the Olympic Games along with Leopoldo Palacios.
Stephens has been the course designer at the Charlotte Jumper Classic since its inception in 2004. He is pleased to return this year to design courses for some of the best jumper riders in the United States.
